After a string of five wins, the Edgewood Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rains. While losing is never fun, Edgewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Rains is ranked 60th).
Leading Rains to victory were Presley Kilgore and Jasey Campbell. Kilgore scored six points along with three steals, while Campbell scored six points along with four steals. Campbell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.
Edgewood's defeat ended a 21-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 24-9. As for Rains, their victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 31-2.
Edgewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rains also has no future games currently scheduled.
