Jonathan Harrison made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Adam Buck was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Hazimeh, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Edsel Ford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Allen Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Anderson 10-0 on Wednesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Jaguars' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
The result came thanks to Jack Labiak's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Reece Phillips, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Matelic, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
Edsel Ford pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Allen Park, their win bumped their record up to 7-3-1.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Edsel Ford hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Allen Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
