On Saturday Flagler/Hi-Plains take on Weldon Valley at Flagler Homecoming at 1:00 PM. Flagler/Hi-Plains have seen their point totals decreasing over the past five games, a vulnerability Weldon Valley are surely hoping to exploit.
Flagler/Hi-Plains have to be hurting after a devastating 26-58 loss at the hands of Peetz last Friday. The loss shouldn't obscure the performances of sophomore Zayd Banks, who picked up 46 yards on the ground and accumulated 115 passing yards, and freshman Cody Banks, who rushed for 62 yards and 1 touchdown. If you haven't heard Banks's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in Flagler/Hi-Plains' past six games.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Weldon Valley, and their matchup last Friday only extended their streak of losses to four. They were completely outmatched, falling 12-58 to Prairie. Weldon Valley were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-52.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Find out which team's record gets a tune-up and which team falls into a funk by watching the game and checking back on MaxPreps for the full scoop.
