The Meadowcreek Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 60-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Norcross. While losing is never fun, Meadowcreek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Norcross is ranked 94th).
Despite the loss, Meadowcreek still got an impressive performance from Daron Sturdivant, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Sturdivant hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Adonai Mussie, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Meadowcreek's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Norcross, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Meadowcreek will look to defend their home court on Friday against Duluth at 7:00 p.m. Norcross won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wheeler at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Wheeler knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Norcross likes a good challenge.
