Volleyball Recap: Pendleton Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Pendleton proved they can win big with a three-set victory on Tuesday. On Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Crescent Tigers 3-2. The win is more of the same for the Bulldogs, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Pendleton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 16-25, 25-15, 25-18, 15-13.

Pendleton was led to victory by Taylor Ray and Payton Koontz. Ray had 36 assists, 23 digs, and three aces, while Koontz had 25 digs, 18 kills, and three aces. The team also got some help from Kyley Wiles, who had 15 digs and six assists.

Pendleton has now won three of their last four games on the road. That's given a solid lift to their 11-5 record this season. As for Crescent, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 16 contests, dating back to last year. That leaves them at a 2-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Pendleton will take on their in-conference opponent Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Crescent is set to challenge their familiar foe West-Oak at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
