Softball Recap: Valley View Beats Wilmington for Their Third Straight Victory

Valley View won against Eaton on Friday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Spartans beat the Wilmington Hurricane by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-7. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Megan Coleman was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lily Bell, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Valley View's record now sits at 7-15. As for Wilmington, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Valley View and Wilmington could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Spartans will take on Monroe at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (581 vs. 237). Meanwhile, Wilmington (ranked 284th) will meet Mount Notre Dame (ranked 63rd) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
