The Southeast Halifax Trojans's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They strolled past Rocky Mount Prep with points to spare, taking the game 82-66. The win was just what Southeast Halifax needed coming off of a 81-49 defeat in their prior matchup.
Trayvese Silver continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with five steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodney Johnson, who scored 12 points.
Rocky Mount Prep lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Qualique Jones, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Cameron Fenner was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Southeast Halifax's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road.
Southeast Halifax will be playing at home against Northwest Halifax at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Halifax will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 590th, while Southeast Halifax is ranked 248th). As for Rocky Mount Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Tarboro at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
