The home team had won the previous seven meetings between North Murray and Calhoun, and Calhoun kept the tradition alive. The Mountaineers took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellow Jackets on Friday. The Mountaineers have struggled against the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Kaitlyn Malone made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Hailey Coram, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

North Murray's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Calhoun, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

North Murray didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-7 loss against Armuchee on the 9th. As for Calhoun, they will take on Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Yellow Jackets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
