First Christian will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Corinth Christian Academy extended their winning streak to four last Thursday. Corinth Christian Academy blew past Open Bible Christian 19-4. Corinth Christian Academy's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Peyton Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Corinth Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two hits, but 2-3 otherwise. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Corinth Christian Academy let Alden Hughes and Josiah Griffin run wild. Hughes earned three RBI, one run, and two stolen bases, while Griffin earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases. Those three RBI gave Hughes a new career-high. Eli Smith also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Corinth Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.
First Christian came out on top against Northside Christian Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Lions put the hurt on Northside Christian Academy with a sharp 8-1 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won four games in a row.
Morgan Earnhart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Williams, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Colin Preston was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Corinth Christian Academy's record now sits at 6-3. As for First Christian, their record is now 9-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Corinth Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like First Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Corinth Christian Academy suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to First Christian in their previous meeting on April 3rd. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
