The Mars Fightin' Planets were the 80-63 winner over the Kiski Area Cavaliers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Mars fell just short of Kiski Area by a score of 52-50. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mars has scored all season.
Several Fightin' Planets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Ceh, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Ceh scored a full 34% of Mars' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Remi Black, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Mars now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Kiski Area, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mars will be home for the holidays to greet Trinity at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kiski Area will be home for the holidays to greet Indiana at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Indiana will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Kiski Area is ranked 12th).
