After a string of four wins, the Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 44-32 to Wellpinit. Almira-Coulee-Hartline was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wellpinit apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Almira-Coulee-Hartline still got an impressive performance from Beth Okamoto, who scored 13 points.
Danea Norman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wellpinit, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Norman is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayah Hill, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Almira-Coulee-Hartline's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Wellpinit, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Almira-Coulee-Hartline will take on Curlew at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Curlew is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road. As for Wellpinit, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Odessa at 4:30 p.m. Hopefully Odessa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
