The Providence Pioneers lost against the Corydon Central Panthers back in November of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Saturday. Providence took a  46-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Corydon Central.
 Providence's lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Avery  Smith, who  scored 7 points along with 9  rebounds. Smith is absolutely dominating the  steal category: she's  posted at least two every time she's  taken the court this season.  Addison Smith was another key contributor,  scoring 9 points along with 6  rebounds and 4  steals.
 Corydon Central got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Josie Vaughn out in front who  scored 17 points along with 3  steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which  Vaughn has scored at least 25% of Corydon Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Gracie Wate, who  scored 6 points along with 4  steals.
 Providence now  has a losing record at 1-2. As for Corydon Central, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence will  square off against Christian Academy at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Christian Academy is coming into the  contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Corydon Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Scottsburg at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Scottsburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Corydon Central in Indiana (Scottsburg is ranked 20th, while Corydon Central is ranked 111th).
