Baseball Recap: Franklin Academy Comes Up Short

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Franklin Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of the East Wake Academy Eagles by a score of 2-1. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Charles Honse was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Franklin Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Franklin Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for East Wake Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Franklin Academy will face off against Falls Lake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Wake Academy, they will take on Neuse Charter on Wednesday.
