Basketball Game Preview: Quinter Bulldogs vs. Ingalls Bulldogs

The Quinter Bulldogs will face off against the Ingalls Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Quinter is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Hanover on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Quinter was outmatched by Hanover and fell 77-48. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Quinter saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Colt Werth, who posted nine points and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Werth is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shea S Salyers, who had 13 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Ingalls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 61-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kiowa County.

Like Ingalls, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Breck Averhoff led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Averhoff a new career-high in assists (six). Logan Simon was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Ingalls now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Quinter, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Quinter has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26 boards per game. However, it's not like Ingalls struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.7 rebounds.
