The West Canada Valley Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Morrisville-Eaton Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Saturday, West Canada Valley faced Thousand Islands in a battle between two of the state's top teams. West Canada Valley simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Thousand Islands 48-6 at home. The victory was familiar territory for West Canada Valley who now have five in a row.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last contest, Morrisville-Eaton made sure to put some points up on the board against Sauquoit Valley on Friday. Morrisville-Eaton took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 56-6 win over Sauquoit Valley. Morrisville-Eaton pushed the score to 49-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Sauquoit Valley had no chance of recovering from.
Morrisville-Eaton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Highers, who rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Austin Zaleski, who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
West Canada Valley's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 52 points. As for Morrisville-Eaton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
West Canada Valley came up short against Morrisville-Eaton when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 20-14. Can West Canada Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
