The Midway Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Midway had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against Temple as Midway made off with a 43-19 win. Given Midway's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while Temple is ranked 987th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Copperas Cove can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 44-22 margin over Weiss. The victory was just what Copperas Cove needed coming off of a 68-45 loss in their prior game.
Midway now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Copperas Cove, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.
Midway strolled past Copperas Cove in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 64-46. Will Midway repeat their success, or does Copperas Cove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
