The Sunny Hills Lancers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Everything went their way against Whittier Christian as Sunny Hills made off with a 84-59 win. Sunny Hills might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six games by 20 points or more this season.
Sunny Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justin Shim led the charge by scoring 11 points. Raeden Bobadilla was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Despite the loss, Whittier Christian still got an impressive performance from Aaron Henry, who scored 14 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Henry grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Leland Carrido, who scored 11 points.
Sunny Hills' victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Whittier Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunny Hills will square off against Fullerton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fullerton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 652nd, while Sunny Hills is ranked 225th). Whittier Christian and Valley Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
