DCIAA - Stripes recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in DCIAA - Stripes this week, Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering beat Roosevelt 18-13. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
McKinley Tech took down Cardozo 72-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Shaquante Simms ran for 51 yards in the win.
Eastern's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ora Moore threw for 287 and 4 touchdowns and Dajuan Green had 119 yards receiving. On the ground Moore chipped in 279 yards. Jerome Johnson helped Eastern's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 85 yards.
He was 17-24 with 1 interception.
Moore was a force in the backfield as the Ramblers defeated Bell.
Moore was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 279 yards as Eastern beat the Griffins. Teammate Green added to the ground attack by rushing for 59 yards.
Eastern's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Ramblers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Moore has thrown for 992 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Green has 26 catches for 335 yards. Moore also leads the league in rushing with 473 yards.
The marquee game in DCIAA - Stripes this week will be the clash between the Trainers and Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering. McKinley Tech comes into the matchup ranked 19th in the state, while the Panthers ranks 21st.
