Montclair was handed a heart-breaking two-run  defeat in their last  contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Pomona  on Monday. The Montclair Cavaliers blew past the Pomona Red Devils 31-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cavaliers considering their one-run performance the  game before.
 Izabella Benites made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits (and not a single walk). Benites was also big at the plate,  scoring five  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Zariah Surrey was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and four  RBI.  Sofia Rodriguez was another key player,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with two  stolen bases, five  RBI,  and three  runs.
 Montclair  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .952. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pomona only posted  an  OBP of  .250.
Montclair's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pomona,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 0-3.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montclair will welcome Colony  at 3:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Montclair is facing Colony at the right time seeing as Colony is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak. Pomona will get a bit of extra time to process the  loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on La Puente at 3:30  p.m.  on March 11th.
