Softball Recap: C.H. Yoe Makes It Five in a Row at Home

C.H. Yoe won the last time they faced Rockdale and things went their way on Friday too. The C.H. Yoe Yoemen were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over the Rockdale Tigers. The Yoemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Adara Lewis was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off 11 hits. Lewis was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple.

In other batting news, Josie Laureano was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Kasara Brooks was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

C.H. Yoe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

C.H. Yoe's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Rockdale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7-1.

Looking ahead, C.H. Yoe will face off against Little River Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rockdale, they will square off against Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Rockdale's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
