The Ellis Railroaders can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They managed a 49-45 victory over Trego. The victory was just what Ellis needed coming off of a 68-43 defeat in their prior matchup.
Ellis found their leader in underclassman Aiden Aschenbrenner, who scored 21 points along with six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Aschenbrenner has scored at least a third of Ellis' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaren Frickey, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Ellis' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Trego, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Ellis will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trego, they will head out on the road to square off against the Indians on Tuesday. Hoxie is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
