Lago Vista has struggled against the Cougars recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Lago Vista's loss came despite strong showings from Eliana Helton and Saylor Stamos. Helton scored seven points along with nine rebounds, while Stamos scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Jarrell found their leader in underclassman Aniya Taylor, who scored 22 points along with six steals. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamyre' Fitch, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Lago Vista's defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-19. As for Jarrell, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lago Vista will stay at home for another game and welcome the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
