It was a good run, but the Richmond Christian Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They were dealt a 69-31 loss at the hands of Norfolk Collegiate. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Richmond Christian has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Richmond Christian saw an underclassman step up: Kailah Carter scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 54.8% of Richmond Christian's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Trimble, who scored seven points.
Richmond Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2. As for Norfolk Collegiate, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.
Richmond Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Kings at 6:30 p.m. Grace Christian School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Warriors are ranked 142nd). As for Norfolk Collegiate, they will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Peninsula Catholic is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
