The Huntley Red Raiders will square off against the St. Charles East Fighting Saints at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Huntley is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Avery Collatz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Katelyn Bayness was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Huntley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, St. Charles East posted their closest victory since April 15th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Wheaton-Warrenville South 5-3. The game was the first time the Fighting Saints have beaten the Tigers on their field since May 9, 2022.
Lexi Majkszak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Addison Wolf was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Morgan Beers also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Huntley pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for St. Charles East, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 12-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Huntley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like St. Charles East struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Huntley's way against St. Charles East in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Huntley made off with a 12-2 win. Will the Red Raiders repeat their success, or do the Fighting Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
