If the Red Level Tigers were feeling good off their 71-46 takedown of the Shields Panthers last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Red Level fell to the Tigers 69-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Red Level still got an impressive performance from Javen Poindexter, who scored 48 points. That was a full 76.2% of Red Level's points, marking the 17th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Leading McKenzie to victory were Jaylen Mcmillian and Jay Jackson. Mcmillian scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Jackson dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. Quay Jackson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Red Level's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for McKenzie, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Level will challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McKenzie, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Opp is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
