Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Center Gets the Win

On Friday, the Victory Christian Center Kings were able to grind out a solid victory over the Queen's Grant Stallions, taking the game 50-43.

Sofia Ponce was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Roselyn Sanchez, who posted 13 points.

Queen's Grant's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Za'Miya Bynum, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds, and Misa Garris, who put up 18 points and four steals. That was a full 53.5% of Queen's Grant's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Victory Christian Center now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Queen's Grant, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.

Victory Christian Center wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 42-34 win against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on the 18th. As for Queen's Grant, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-53 loss against Legion Collegiate Academy on the 18th.
