After flying high against the Southern Regional Rams last Friday, The Long Branch Green Wave came back down to earth. Long Branch had to suffer through a rough 57-20 loss at the hands of Colts Neck. Long Branch was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Colts Neck apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.
Chris Scully continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Colts Neck, rushing for 185 yards and four touchdowns. Scully is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dom Beninato, who threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Long Branch's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Colts Neck, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Long Branch will head out on the road to face off against Jackson Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson Memorial will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Colts Neck will take on Toms River South at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Toms River South is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
