After flying high against Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech last Friday, Ocracoke came back down to earth. The Ocracoke Dolphins were beaten by the Manteo Redskins 56-20 on Tuesday. The Dolphins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redskins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2017.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manteo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khloe Spencer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Kelly, who had five points in addition to nine rebounds and seven steals.
Ocracoke's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.
Ocracoke will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Albemarle School at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Manteo has already played their next matchup (against Ocracoke), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
