High Point Central scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Northwest Guilford, 20-14. At the time, the Vikings was ranked 19th in the state, while the Bison was 51st.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Northwest Guilford, who took down 19th ranked Northwest Guilford, 20-14. Kevin Green in the win.
Garrison Duncan and Lavaughnte' Smith gave East Forsyth a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Duncan threw for 104 yards and one touchdown, while Smith ran for 113 yards. Duncan also contributed to the rushing game with 81 yards on the ground.
TJ Parker was the best wideout in 4A Piedmont Triad this week as Ragsdale topped Southwest Guilford. Parker tallied four receptions for 84 yards. Brandon Walker helped Ragsdale's passing attack out by catching four balls for 73 yards.
High Point Central's Justin Johnson and Jawan Foggie have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 1137 yards this season, while Foggie, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 34 catches for 457 yards. Smith from the Eagles leads the league in rushing with 692 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Joe Woodruff's team takes on the Tigers. At the moment, the Vikings are in third, while Ragsdale is in second.
Northwest Guilford suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 20-14 loss to Wayne Jones's team. The Vikings had been ranked 19th, but fell to 37 following the defeat.
