Basketball Recap: Kimball Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Kimball can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Tracy Bulldogs out 71-68. The win was all the more spectacular given the Jaguars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 590th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 228th).

Leading Kimball to victory were Jaden Ryan and Tobe Nwankwo. Ryan went 7 for 14 en route to 20 points, while Nwankwo went 7 of 9 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Ryan has posted since back in December of 2024. Rehmat Mann was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Kimball's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 7-17. As for Tracy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season.

Kimball will be playing at home against West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Kimball has lost three straight at home , while West has lost four on the road. As for Tracy, they will take on Modesto Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Modesto Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
