SouthWest Edgecombe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kea Hopkins, who rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jhakari Lovely, who rushed for 103 yards on only ten carries.
Meanwhile, Farmville Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Southwest Onslow by a score of 42-35. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Farmville Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landen Barnes, who rushed for 156 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Barnes was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards. Alex Moye was another key contributor, gaining 170 total yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Farmville Central's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was O'Maurie Phillips and his 2.5 sacks.
SouthWest Edgecombe has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.3 points per game. As for Farmville Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as SouthWest Edgecombe and Farmville Central have no problem gaining yardage. SouthWest Edgecombe has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 367.4 total yards per game. However, it's not like Farmville Central struggles in that department as they've been even better at 433.3 per game.
