The Terry Sanford Bulldogs can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 56-44 victory over Pine Forest. Terry Sanford's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Terry Sanford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wilson Harrell, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Walker, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Pine Forest still got an impressive performance from Dwayne Johnson, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Nehemiah Mcdonald was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Pine Forest were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Terry Sanford only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Terry Sanford's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9. As for Pine Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Terry Sanford will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Harnett Central at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Harnett Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Pine Forest, they will head out on the road to face off against E.E. Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in E.E. Smith's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
