The Mt. Rainier Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Bonney Lake Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Mt. Rainier pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-57 bruising from Kennedy Catholic.
The losing side was boosted by Zach Luz, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Owen Brown, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Bonney Lake's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 70-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Kitsap. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mt. Rainier now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Bonney Lake, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Mt. Rainier came up short against Bonney Lake in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 67-60. Can Mt. Rainier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
