Kenton hasn't had much luck against Wapakoneta recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will take on the Redskins at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Kenton put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They and Defiance were almost perfectly matched up, but the Wildcats suffered a 43-42 loss. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (35), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, Kenton got top-tier performance from Xavier Gammon, who threw for 408 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.1% of his passes, and also rushed for 70 yards and one score. 120 of Gammon's passing yards were hauled in by Maddux McFarlin.
Meanwhile, Wapakoneta put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Shawnee 42-14. The Redskins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 21 points or more this season.
Wapakoneta's win came from a few key players Kenton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caleb Moyer, who rushed for 71 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jarrett Mullen, who gained 133 total yards.

Wapakoneta's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Kenton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Kenton might still be hurting after the 42-21 defeat they got from Wapakoneta in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moyer, who rushed for 82 yards and four scores, and also threw for 359 yards and one TD while completing 92% of his passes.
