2A Conference 3 recap November 5, 2013
East Lincoln extended the longest winning streak in 2A Conference 3 this week by beating Maiden, 42-0. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Mustangs.
The Blue Devils lost to East Lincoln 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jake McRee threw for 100 yards in the loss.
Frank Snider's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Ricky Taylor chipped in 21 yards. Justus Woods helped Maiden's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 15 yards.
Taylor was the best wideout in the league this week as the Blue Devils lost to Mike Byus' team. Taylor racked up 3 receptions for 36 yards. Woods helped Maiden's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 15 yards.
Maiden's McRee and Alex White led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback McRee has thrown for 2,312 yards this season, while White has 32 catches for 569 yards. The Mustangs' Chaz Surratt leads the league in rushing yards with 867.
An important game coming up in 2A Conference 3 this week will be when West Lincoln takes on East Lincoln. As it stands, the Rebels are in third, while the Mustangs are in second.
