Grace Prep stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They put the hurt on Midland Classical Academy with a sharp 46-25 win. Given Grace Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Knights are ranked 1141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Covenant Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 48-38 win over Trinity Christian.
Covenant Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Boughton out in front who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Hill, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Grace Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. As for Covenant Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 20-5.
Grace Prep came up short against the Cougars in their previous matchup back in January, falling 63-51. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Covenant Christian's Aaron Turner, who scored 23 points along with four steals.
