The American Eagles will head out to square off against the Deer Valley Wolverines at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. American has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
American is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They lost 16-6 to Piedmont.
Amber Hillman made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs. Mangalu Rodrigez also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Deer Valley). They put the hurt on Ygnacio Valley with a sharp 32-16 victory on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Deer Valley got a massive performance out of Mariah Basulto-Velasco, who fired off three doubles, three RBI, and two runs while going 5-for-5. Lysette Marcial was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. American has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Deer Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 13.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
American got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against Deer Valley by a conclusive 13-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
