The Roy/Mosquero Longhorn and the Logan Longhorns will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Roy/Mosquero is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Saturday, Roy/Mosquero came up short against Raton and fell 50-40. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Roy/Mosquero has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Logan put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Legacy Academy 59-45. Given Logan's advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Legacy Academy is ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hayden Bruhn continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 20 rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Mason Wallin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Roy/Mosquero's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Logan, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Roy/Mosquero was taken down by Logan 78-46 in their previous matchup last Saturday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bruhn, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Now that Roy/Mosquero knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
