The Secaucus Patriots will square off against the Midland Park Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Secaucus put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. They blew past Harrison 16-1. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Blue Tide: they've now won seven in a row.

Connor Miicallovich and Ben Garbo made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Miicallovich struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Garbo tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Miicallovich has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Miicallovich went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base, while Garbo got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those three hits gave Miicallovich a new career-high.
In other batting news, Secaucus got a big performance out of Jason Mendoza, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Diego Vazquez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Secaucus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Midland Park took on Cresskill on Friday. The Panthers walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Cougars.
Chase Shortway was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Ryan Fleming was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Secaucus' win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-9. As for Midland Park, their record is now 7-3-1.
Secaucus couldn't quite get it done against Midland Park in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 as they fell 8-4. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
