North Central recap October 8, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Muncie Central, who defeated 155th ranked Huntington North, 34-33.
Kokomo was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in North Central. The Wildkats vanquished Logansport 14-7 earlier in the week.
Richmond's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jordan Christian threw for 264 and 3 touchdowns and Brendan Hegg had 142 yards receiving. On the ground Justin Holland contributed 117 yards. Matt Marrow helped Richmond's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 80 yards.
He was 13-22 with 0 interceptions.
Christian put up the best numbers in passing as the Red Devils bested New Castle. Christian's favorite target this week was Hegg, who caught 5 passes for 142 yards.
Richmond's Christian and Marrow led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Christian has thrown for 1,439 yards this season, while Marrow has 31 catches for 631 yards. Bo Baker from Kokomo leads the league in rushing with 903 yards.
Brett Colby's team's Baker needs only 97 yards against Marion next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 154 carries Baker has put up 903 yards this year.
The Vikings are in fourth place, while Matt Holeva's team is in first place.
The Red Devils added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Trojans, 49-3. The win marks fifth in a row for the Richmond.
