Given Friendship Collegiate Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 19th in District of Columbia, while King's Christian Academy is ranked 122nd in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
King's Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Diallo Long, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Jalen Waller was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
The victory made it two in a row for Friendship Collegiate Academy and bumps their season record up to 11-14. As for King's Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13.
Friendship Collegiate Academy will head out on the road to take on Parkside at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Parkside knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Friendship Collegiate Academy likes a good challenge. As for King's Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Living Water School at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Living Water School is coming into the game with six straight wins on the road, so King's Christian Academy is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
