Santa Ana Valley is 1-9 against Savanna since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Santa Ana Valley Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Savanna Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Santa Ana Valley posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 victory over Century.
Meanwhile, Savanna waltzed into their match on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They slipped by Western 72-71.
Savanna got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Paul Henderson out in front who scored 22 points along with two steals. Henderson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. James Lee was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two blocks.
The win got Santa Ana Valley back to even at 9-9. As for Savanna, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Santa Ana Valley might still be hurting after the 54-33 defeat they got from Savanna when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Santa Ana Valley was down 34-9.
