Meanwhile, Fisher Catholic came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Jaguars. The Irish are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the fourth game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Olivia Haynes made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Fisher Catholic got a massive performance out of Mallory Stanton, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Stanton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Funk, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Fisher Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .696. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Fisher Catholic pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Grove City Christian, their record is now 4-6.
