Citrus Hill has been on the road for six straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Liberty Bison at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Citrus Hill was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 70-66 to Perris. Citrus Hill has struggled against Perris recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jerren White, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds. White is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Roland Thibodeaux was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Citrus Hill were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Liberty at home against West Valley on Tuesday as the squad secured a 84-44 win. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Liberty has managed all season.
Citrus Hill bumped their record down to 3-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Citrus Hill took a serious blow against Liberty in their previous meeting back in January, falling 73-30. Can Citrus Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
