The St. Francis Troubadours will be taking part in a tournament against the Vintage Crushers at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
St. Francis had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Berkeley on Thursday. The Troubadours put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 11-4 win.

Kaili Heeb made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, St. Francis let Alexis McFarland and Claire Krotine run wild. McFarland went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Krotine went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Ariella Alcantar also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Vintage came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Crushers have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like St. Francis, Vintage also got a great game from a two-way player: Noelle Rofkahr. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Rofkahr was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.
In other batting news, Carlee Carter and Angie Rubalcava did most of the damage at the plate: Carter went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Rubalcava went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Abygail Sims, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Vintage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orestimba only posted a batting average of .190.
St. Francis' record is now 4-15. As for Vintage, their record now sits at 11-4.
St. Francis suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Vintage in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can the Troubadours avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
