Surrattsville is 1-9 against Douglass since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Surrattsville Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Douglass Eagles at 7:15 p.m.
Last Thursday, Surrattsville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-53 to Oxon Hill.
Meanwhile, Douglass took their contest at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 85-49 victory over Central. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-19.
Emmanuel Carson was a one-man wrecking crew for Douglass as he scored 26 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carson has scored all season. Kwari Harvey was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Surrattsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Douglass, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Things could have been worse for Surrattsville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 73-56 loss to Douglass in their previous matchup back in January. Thankfully for Surrattsville, Albert Mouring (who scored 19 points along with five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
