The Sugar Creek Wildcats suffered their biggest loss since November 7, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 55-16 loss at the hands of Highland Tech. While losing is never fun, Sugar Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 604th, while Highland Tech is ranked 297th).
Addie McCraw was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds for Highland Tech. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Thomas, who scored eight points along with 19 rebounds and four steals.
Sugar Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Highland Tech, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
Sugar Creek will be playing at home against Piedmont Community Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Highland Tech, they will head out on the road to take on East Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Gaston is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
