On Friday, the Jackson Prep Patriots faced the Jackson Academy Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Jackson Prep fell to Jackson Academy 60-55. Jackson Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Jackson Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.
Leading Jackson Academy to victory were Caleb Gaitor and Mike Williams. Gaitor scored 16 points along with three steals, while Williams scored 21 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Goodloe, who scored nine points.
Jackson Prep are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-5-1. As for Jackson Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 21-1.
Jackson Prep will head out on the road to challenge Hartfield Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hartfield Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Jackson Academy, they will face off against Madison Central at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
