The Cocoa Tigers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 64-46 win over Life Christian Academy on Tuesday.
Travon Graves was the offensive standout of the match as he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontay Williams, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Life Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dan Morales, who scored 14 points. The match was Morales' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Delciano Poscool was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Cocoa's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Life Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Cocoa will be playing at home against Eustis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eustis will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. As for Life Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against 212 Sports Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
