Polytechnic is 0-5 against Everman since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Polytechnic Parrots will head out on the road to challenge the Everman Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Polytechnic is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Even though Polytechnic has not done well against South Hills recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Polytechnic put the hurt on South Hills with a sharp 37-13 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Polytechnic has posted since November 16, 2023.
Polytechnic can attribute much of their success to Sofia Castro, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Castro continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyra Ray, who scored two points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Everman's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arlington Heights.
Polytechnic's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Everman, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-11.
Polytechnic was dealt a bruising 43-13 loss at the hands of Everman when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Polytechnic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
